Sorry for using English:
Do you guys know of a laboratory in Germany, that can test flashlights? (Lumens) And if so, how much it costs.
I found 1 company in the Niederlande, which charges almost 800 euro. That's too much for me.

I would love to hear from you.
Edit: it's for testing lumens... (output)

Hello

I just was reading in the member informations about you, that your website is eneloop.com. First it would be from interest which tests you would like to have. About the power the runtime, the built quality or what else. And may be you could say which lamps you mean. Here in the TLF are some members which made tests and reviews for some lamp constructors. I think it would be the best you contact one of the team members or moderators of the TLF. You will find the contact informations here.

Thanks you.
Oops.. I should have been more clear. It's about testing the output in lumens, with a calibration/lab certificate.
I have some Maukka lights, and would like to test them in a laboratory, to see how close the lumen output is.
It doesn't have anything to do with Eneloop101.com, but it's related to my other website 1lumen.com

Why not contact a major "German" University ? .

At least manhours should not be much of a problem ?

The possible publicity** or PR to come of it might even be enough to motivate or justify the "experiment" ?

**if you mention their assistance/help on your website ... 1lumen ...

If all goes well it might not be a one time deal , but a recurring partnership or second opinion with mutual benefits ?

Universities are often closely affiliated to institutes that are involved in certification , like TU Delft and TNO , and this sounds a bit like a certification proces ?

Cheers,

Martin

Thank you for the ideas guys!
I reached out to the university in Wageningen (Netherlands) but they didn't want to help out.
I just sent a message to TU Delft, to see if they want to help out.

Btw: @Xandre: what do you mean with: Flashaholics are measure up very cool vs LL ?

Best,
Marco

Ok, got it.
Well, I disagree when it comes to the higher end lights.
They differ quite a bit when comparing Integrating spheres vs lumen tubes in terms of output.
So, the more accurate I can be, the better.. it doesn't need to be within the 1% :)

My opinion is
you wanna make money.

All companies and manufacturers and so on
want to make money.

So why should they spend their time,
their facilities and equipment ?
Just for fun ?

So it is not a pity
just business . ;)

If you are an hobbyist
I understand
but if you wanna make money with the certificate
You have to pay for it.

Just my two cents

Hi Xandre.

I think you were referring to my comment about Led Lenser?
It's a pity they don't do this for customers, and it's totally understandable to charge for it, if they were willing to test it.
I wouldn't mind if it was for free though, would you?
I'm just looking for several options, before I decide what to do.

So, if somebody has any other options, please let me know! I'd like to educate myself on pricing before jumping on an offer.

I just got another quote from a German company. They ask 610 EUR, and 1000 EUR for a test with a Goniometer.

The more info I receive, the better decision I can make.
