My impressions:

PROS

+ High build quality, not seen any scratch (checked all four lights) etc. well lubricated thread/o-ring (not too much, but ok)
+ Dust free lens, I've not seen any problem inside the lens, checked all four S2A. (same experience as earlier baton models)
+ Very nice, quality beam, has huge hotspot, no rings etc, I really like TIR solution, good balanced beam. Very useable in many situations
+ Nice white tint with slightly yellowish color, so it's not a horrible bluish, purplish "cool white" tint
+ NO PWM OR OTHER IRRITATING things, all mode (except moonlight, pls check other comments) looks perfect, absolutely flickering-free.
+ User friendly UI, simple to use, direct access to turbo or moonlight mode, hidden strobe.
+ Good performance from two AA batteries (max 550lm)
+ Really long runtimes, especially with lithium batteries (50 days in moonlight mode or more than 3 days in low mode, 20lm)
+ Well spaced modes, direct access to turbo and moonlight mode
+ The fluorescent silicone surface on the body a very good feature, you can find your flashlight in the night easily
+ Timer function also looks very useful, I really like it
+ Removable clip
+ Came with 2pcs lithium batteries, date code 2016.05 (expire 2026.05)
+ 5 years warranty

CONS

- there is no holster
- there is no lockout function

Other comments

- Strange, but I've seen pwm(?) effect in lowest mode (moonlight), but it's an extremely fast, so absolutely not visible in real life use.
- I would like to see 14500 li-ion support
- I would like to see neutral white version, not only cool white

If you need a really good quality, versatile AA flashlight around the house or in the car etc. I highly recommend S2A.

R50 Seeker (1*26650, XH-P50 LED, 2500lm)

Earlier model, R40 was a good versatile flashlight, but now R50 looks better for me. Ok, Olight still use same, "only" 4500mAh cell, but performance much better, much more lumen than R40. Thanks to Cree XH-P50 LED. Now max output is 2500 lumens (R40 was max 1200lm). Impressive performance from a relative small flashlight. Check the R50 vs R40 beamshot comparison pic!

CONS

- Can't charge other batteries in the flashlight (but you can use other 26650 cells)
- there is no holster
- there is no moonlight mode

Other comments

- It's a new light with one of the newest high performance led, so I don't understand Olight, why can't use a higher capacity battery as 4500mAh? 5000-5200mAh cells available on market.
- I would like to see neutral white version not only cool white
- R50 PRO is coming soon with XH-P70 LED and more than 3000 lumens output
- Slightly yellowish tint (for me it's better than ugly purplish, bluish "cool white" tint)
- USB adapter surface looks extremely sensitive, can be easily scratched, be careful. Otherwise USB adapter output is 2.1A.
- Battery original voltage was 3.78V. Charging time 3.78V to 4.18V was ca 3h 15 mins

Olight S1R (XM-L2, 1*RCR123/16340, 900lm)

I really like the original S1, because it's really tiny and powerful light, perfect to every day use, so I'm curious how working the new S1R.

Official specs, features

The S1R baton (S1R) is a side-switch, rechargeable EDC flashlight, powered by one RCR123 rechargeable lithium battery of high discharging rate, giving a maximum output of 900 lumens. It ulitizes Cree XM-L2 LED. Coupled with TIR optic lens of high light transmission rate, it can deliver a balanced beam. S1R has five brightness levels and a strobe mode, covering an output range of 0.5 to 900 lumens. The outer appearance of S1R follows the style of BATON Series. It comes with a magnetic charging cable. You may use a desktop micro-dok as an optional charger, which makes it easier to acquire the power source whether at home or outdoors, and make sure the flashlight is always ready to bring brightness to your life at any time.

- Cree XM-L2 LED
- Powered by a 550mAh RCR123 customized battery of five times discharging rate, giving a maximum output up to 900 lumens
- The flashlight can be charged through the magnetic contact charging port (other batteries may also be used in S1R, but cannot be charged)
- New 750mA portable USB charging cable
- Brightness increases or decreases gradually: when the flashlight is switched on/off, it will light up or fade gradually to protect eyes from the stimulation caused by sudden brightness changes
- Flat magnetic tailcap that allows it to be secured to ferrous metal surfaces as a hands-free option
- Lockout mode can be activated on the side switch for accidental triggering protection, along with a low-voltage indicator underneath
- Reverse polarity protection circuits
- Timer Setting: Short (3 minutes) and long (9 minutes)
- The standby current is below 30uA

- Output: 0,5lm (15d), 12m (33h), 60lm (4h30m), 300lm (1h), 900lm (30 sec continously, but total runtime, not more than ca. 3-4 mins)
- Peak Beam Intensity: 5250cd max. distance 145m
- Length 66mm, diameter: 21mm

Accessories

- Lanyard
- Pouch
- User Manual
- Micro dok (optional)
- MCC Magnetic Charging Cable + 550mAh 5C RCR123A Battery

HOW TO OPERATE

ON/OFF: Single click the side switch to turn the light on/off. When the light is turned on, it will return to the previous brightness level selected before the light was turned off. When the flashlight is switched off, the current mode will be memorized. Modes that can be memorized are: Moonlight, low, medium, high and turbo (High and turbo mode are memorized for only 10 minutes. After that, the memorized mode will revert to the medium setting).

CHANGE BRIGHTNESS LEVEL: When the flashlight is on, press and hold the side switch to automatically cycle through the low, medium, high, and turbo modes. The mode is selected when the side switch has been released.

MOONLIGHT MODE: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the side switch for over one second to access the moonlight mode. If the memorized mode is moonlight, simple click the switch to access it.

DIRECT ACCESS TO TURBO MODE: When the flashlight is off, quickly double press the side switch to activate the turbo mode; when the flashlight is on, quickly double press and then hold the side switch to activate the turbo mode.

STROBE: Quickly triple click the side switch to enter the strobe mode. To quit this mode, single click or press and hold the side switch.

LOCKOUT/UNLOCK: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the side switch (for about 2 seconds) to access the button lockout mode (the flashlight will enter the moonlight mode first and will then switch off to signal the lockout mode). Under the lockout mode, press and hold the switch for less than one second without releasing it. The red indicator below the switch will be on for a short time to signal that the light is still in a lockout mode. To unlock it, keep holding switch for over one second until the moonlight mode is on again.

My Impressions

PROS

+ Excellent quality, clear, dust free TIR lens, well lubricated o-rings, thread (not much, but enough for smooth operating)
+ Same, excellent beam quality as S1 without any rings or others. Very large spot, thanks to TIR lens
+ Low voltage indicator
+ Timer function
+ Removable clip
+ Lockout function (S1 came without this function)
+ Magnetic tailcap (removable) one of the best and useful feature
+ There is no PWM or other irritating flickering (except moonlight mode, pls check other comments)
+ Very small sized charging system (for me it's better than the charging dock) with fast charge current (750mA)
+ 5 years warranty

CONS

- Own S1R charger stopped at 4.23V, for me it's too much, 4.18-4.19V would be better
- Can't charge other batteries in this flashlight

Other comments

- I've seen same pwm(?) effect as S2A in moonlight mode. Not visible in real ife situations, because flickering looks extremely fast, but strange because original S1 (or S2) was perfect in moonlight mode. Of course other modes looks OK!
- 900 lumen sounds very good, but don't forget, you can use this mode very limited time, check my runtime test. Total runtime not much more than 3-4 minutes! Continously 30 sec.
- There is no holster, but you get a very nice and really good quality little pouch/bag
- I would like to see neutral white version
- You can use other IMR cells in S1R
- If you want you can charge Olight IMR cell in other chargers (eg XTAR VP series) but be careful, because it's a customized battery.
- 750mA charge current is fast enough and not problem for RCR123/16340 sized IMR cells
- Olight IMR battery (ORB-163C05, 550mA) size:
diameter: 16,7mm
length: 34,3mm
(I've used a Mitutoyo digital caliper)
- Battery original voltage was 3.82V

S1R (900lm mode, restarted every 30 sec)

Start 4.16V
30s 4.04V
1m 3.98V
1m30s 3.94V
2m 3.89V
2m22s 3.86V (not available full 30s)
2m46s 3.84V (not available full 30s)
3m08s 3.80V (not available full 30s)
3m22s 3.79V (not available full 30s)
3m32s 3.78V (not available full 30s)
3m43s 3.77V (not available full 30s)
3m50s 3.76V (not available full 30s)
3m55s 3.75V
(test stopped, S1R still can run max mode, but only few sec continuously)

S1R 900lm+300lm mode (continuously)

Start 4.17V
30s brightness step down 900 to 300lm
51m24s brightness step down 300 to ? (maybe 40-60lm)
57m48s low voltage warning activated (3.02V) and brightness step down again
test stopped.

Ok guys, here are some photos, sorry still not too much, but more pics (incl beamshot) coming in this week or next week.
